So finally we know what Matt has been up to. Just installed Akismet on Beta Thoughts. I have deactivated Spam Karma for now. Let us see how effective Akismet is. One thing I fail to understand is the distribution mechanism of API keys. Does that mean that every one should have a weblog on wordpress.com as well as one’s personal weblog?? Hopefully the doubt will be clear in few days.

The name Akismet is interesting as kismet is urdu/persian word for fate. Â

Just because you have a WordPress.com account doesn’t mean you have to blog there, you can use the account for other things, even if it’s just commenting on other WP.com blogs.

I was just curious to check the comment mechanism/Spam management of this plug-in. As I have tried various spam control systems in the past, and finally working with SPAM KARMA 2.

I would like to learn more bout it’s performance.

It’s pretty fast, the hosting problems seem to be fixed, and it gets it right just about all the time.
